Helping Young People Find Their Safe Journey

At Safe Journey for Young People, we believe every young person should have the opportunity to feel safe, understood and confident; and to exceed in areas they didn’t think possible. Our aim is to help young people overcome barriers, re-engage with learning and develop the personal, emotional and practical skills needed to make a positive transition into young adulthood and beyond.

We have an excellent track record of achieving evidence based outcomes for children and young people in both England and Australia. Our approach is informed by our partnership and evaluation work with Birmingham City University (BCU) and brings together evidence-based and evidence-informed practice, including trauma-informed and CBT-informed approaches, Protective Behaviours, emotional intelligence (E.Q.) and accredited learning.

We work alongside young people, families and schools, supporting pupils who may be experiencing barriers to attendance, engagement, learning, wellbeing or relationships. Our work complements schools’ responsibilities under Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), placing safeguarding, welfare, the voice of the young person and their individual needs at the heart of everything we do.

We use practical and accessible strategies to help young people understand themselves, others and the ever changing world that we all live in. We don’t want pupils to simply cope in life; we want to equip and empower them with the confidence, resilience and mindset, to thrive and build a sustainable future.
